Ronna called Lil'D looking for someone to transport a shipment from Wagga Wagga to Sydney for 35k. The shipment needed to be delivered by 7pm the next night.
Lil'D got a hold of Nigel, Michelle, and Giggy to ride along.
They met at Samoan Joe's later that morning, and headed out in Lil'D's truck. On the way Lil'D clarified that they just needed to get the cargo delivered intact, and that they weren't to open or inspect anything.
Giggy shot Nigel and accusatory glare, and Nigel shrugged and tried to look innocent and offended.
Lil'D had the address in Wagga Wagga where they needed to pick up the cargo, and they got there uneventfully/
A short, balding, dumpy looking foreman with a bad comb-over walked up to the truck and rapped on the bottom of the door after Lil'D backed up to the loading dock. She rolled down her window and verified which shipment she was picking up.
The foreman directed his gang to load up the truck, which took about fifteen minutes, then he returned to the cab and banged on the door again. When Lil'D opened her window, the foreman reached up in his ill-fitting brown herringbone sport jacket to hand her his clipboard.
"Just need your signature on the bottom line there sweetie," he said, "confirming you picked up the lot."
Lil'D signed and handed back the clipboard. "Everything locked up back there?" she asked.
"Yeah," the foreman responded, "and everything inside's tied down."
A couple hours out of Wagga Wagga, Lil'D noticed a blue limo following them, which seemed somewhat out of place. Before she could call anyone's attention to it, it deployed a rotary assault cannon and shot the trailer. The concussion whipped Giggy into the dash and Lil'D into the steering wheel.
Lil'D fought to maintain control of the rig, with the trailer's wheels locking up, while Giggy, Nigel, and Michelle drew guns.
Lil'D got the truck to the side of the road and stopped, and the limo pulled up behind them. There was a moment of silence as Giggy rolled down the window, then Lil'D dropped it into reverse and backed into the limo.
"Well," Giggy said, "I hope they didn't just want to tell us we left our wallet back at the gas station," as the impact jolted the truck.
The limo shot again, and tried to back away, but was pinned. The limo shot a third time as a non-descript van pulled up behind it. Giggy leaned out the window with his assault rifle, looking for a target, while Nigel shifted around to see if he could see anything from the back seat of the truck.
A fireball engulfed the cab of the truck, singing the paint and burning off some hair on Giggy's arm, and then Giggy could see a man walking forward from the van.
One shot from Giggy's rifle took down the man, as Nigel bounded over Giggy and his seat, to straddle the center console, his kilt flipping into Lil'D's face.
Nigel leaned out the window over Giggy as Lil'D started forward. The trailer pulled off of it's hitch with a grinding noise. The limo tried to pull backward, bu just dragged the trailer with it.
"I don't see anyone," Nigel complained, as Giggy fired an anti-vehicle grenade into the limo.
Giggy and Nigel felt the concussion of the grenade as a blast of warm air as Lil'D made a U-turn in the middle of the highway. As they headed back past the blown-out trailer and toward the limo, they all kept their eyes peeled for any action.
As Lil'D pulled around the trailer, they could see the limo unmoving. A woman was collapsed on the ground out of the right rear door.
Giggy, Michelle and Nigel got out of the truck, watching carefully. Nigel went up to the trailer while Michelle investigated the limo and Giggy went to the van.
Seeing that it wasn't easy to get in, Nigel turned away from the trailer and started checking out the limo. Michelle had already seen that the driver was dead in the seat and still jacked in, and she moved on to meet Giggy at the van. Nigel checked pockets on the driver and the fallen female passenger, and found a golden rod in the inside pocket of the woman's coat. He took it, giving the brown stone set in the one end a brief glance, and tucked it in the belt of his kilt.
Meanwhile, Giggy had determined that the van was empty, and he and Michelle had checked the glove box for any additional information, but didn't find any.
Fortunately, the van was running, so Michelle was able to back it up near the trailer, and they were able to transfer the cargo.
They proceeded to Sydney, and got the cargo unloaded. Because of some damage incurred when the trailer was repeatedly shot, they didn't get paid the full amount.
