Izelda flew off with Verika, Elizabeth, and Nanu to Verbabonk, then returned for Leve and Schmidt.
Once she was in the city, Verika started looking around for magical armor, a magical dagger, or another ioun stone. Of course, being Verika, once she found an ioun stone that piqued her interest, she had to try to steal it. As soon as she did so, the stone shrieked, letting off a constant wail.
Running out of the magic shop, a guard tried to grab her, but missed. Verika ran down the street, but everyone noticed. Leve ran to the front door of the tavern they were in and cast hold person on Verika as she ran past. Izelda ran into the street and transformed into a giant squid. Elizabeth snuck out the back door into an alley, along with Schmidt. Nanu jumped into Izelda's tentacles to get flipped into the air. Verika turned herself invisible with her ring, but that didn't silence the shrieking stone. A guard swung at Verika but missed.
Leve stepped back into the tavern. Izelda grabbed the guard that was swinging at Verika and started juggling him. Elizabeth started down the alley away from the noise, Schmidt following her. Two additional guards came up and attacked Izelda, a third coming around behind and missing Verika. Nanu squirmed away from Izelda and started digging in a pile of garbage across the street. Verika broke the hold and climbed up the wall and ran across the roof, trying to be stealthy but still with a wailing stone.
Leve came back out of the bar and shouted to Izelda to cease and desist. She promptly dropped the guards she was juggling, grabbed Nanu and climbed to the tavern roof. She reached back down and grabbed Leve and flew off to a per-designated rendezvous point out of town.
Once Verika arrived, Leve buried the screaming stone near the trunk of a tree. Izelda flew back into town and went to the magic shop. She tried to negotiate with the owner to compensate him for Verika's transgression, but her offer of gold and items was far less than the value of the one item Verika had taken. Izelda left her offering and flew away again, shrieking about how horrible the shop owner was.
By the time she got back to the rendezvous point, Elizabeth and Schmidt had also arrived. They started south on the road back toward Homlet, unsure if they were going to be pursued by guards.
